Destinations from Munich

Chiemsee - from 149,00€

Chiemsee-Alpenland - Aqua highlights

The Chiemsee Alpenland is not only home to Lake Chiemsee that is lovingly nicknamed the Bavarian Sea, it also has a wealth of other aqua highlights. No itinerary would be complete without a trip to Wasserburg: almost entirely surrounded by a bow of the river Inn, this historic and unique town does true justice to its name.

The Eggstätter-Hemhofer lakescape is Bavaria’s oldest nature reserve. Northwest from Lake Chiemsee the Chiemsee and the Inn glaciers collided and the glacial detritus formed a landscape of hollows, hills and crests. This lakeland region is today considered one of the leading Ice Age landscapes in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps. During the ice melt waters filled the caves and cavities creating beautiful 17 lakes the largest three of which are Lake Hartsee, Lake Langbürgner and Lake Perlhamer.

A further regional highlight is the Achendelta in the 1,200 hectares of the "Mündung der Tiroler Achen" nature reserve that stretches some 5 km southwards from the banks of Lake Chiemsee and that is home to over 260 bird species 30 of which are exclusive to this region

Garmisch-Partenkirchen - from 149,00€

Garmisch-Partenkirchen - Discover your true nature

“Discover your true nature“: This motto is the central philosophy encompassing the year-round tourist attractions offered at the renowned holiday destination of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, located one hour south of Munich. In the midst of beautiful mountain views, the most famous town of the Bavarian Alps offers a wide variety of unique experiences.

At the foot of Mount Zugspitze, nature is splendid and mighty and the memories made here between the mountains, valleys, water and sky are simply unparalleled.

Neuschwanstein - from 199,00€

Bavaria’s Most Famous Castles - Fuessen

The over 700-year-old town of Füssen is at the southern end of the Romantic Road and is the ideal starting point for trips to the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, only 2 miles away. A special tip for castle visitors: to enjoy the very best panoramic views of the castles take a boat trip on Lake Forggensee. During the summer season from June 1st to mid-October, two passenger ships offer cruises around the lake. As the ship moves away from the southern banks panoramic views of the Ammergau Alps, the Lechtal, the Tannheim Alps, the royal palaces of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau and the townscape of Füssen gradually unfold.

Königsee - from 239,00€

Arguably the most scenic boat tours are of Lake Königssee, whose emerald-green waters are surrounded by sheer walls of rock and the 9,000-foot Watzmann peak. In this far south-eastern part of Germany, known as Berchtesgadener Land, Hitler’s old teahouse, the ‘Eagle’s Nest’ (Kehlsteinhaus), sits atop the Obersalzberg – a breathtaking spot, with the five-star InterContinental Hotel now conveniently nearby. Here, history knows its place.

Salzburg - from 249,00€

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Retracing the steps of the ‘Wunderkind’ in Salzburg

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is still present in many places within the city of Salzburg. Evidence of the life and works of the ‘Wunderkind’ is omnipresent in the town of his birth. It’s difficult not to find traces of Mozart’s life in the old part of Salzburg, whether on a visit to the place of his birth, to his second home or on the town square that now bears his name.
